Job Description
Position Summary: To patrol the roads within the Municipality checking for conditions (such as snow and/or ice accumulation) According to the Minimum Standards outlines in the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways. Responsible to call in staff when/where required
- To patrol the roads within the Municipality checking for conditions (such as snow and or ice accumulation) according to the minimum standards outlined in the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.
- To call in staff when/where required.
- Performs Routine Road Patrol documenting signs required within the Municipality (may be required to do inventory of road signs on hand).
- Ability to read work orders and follow through on tasks such as installation of road signs, remove or installing road/laneway culverts, flagging and road maintenance work, cemetery maintenance, tree maintenance, and garbage removal.
- Performing light maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to fill in for regular full time staff during absences as operator of truck wing
- Performs other duties as required. Experience Required
Technical Skills and Abilities
- Experience using snow removal equipment (plow and wing)
- Must have a demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a polite and courteous manner
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision and as a member of a team.
- Note: As a condition of employment, the incumbent must provide a clean driver’s abstract.
