Job Description

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:
• Working with children and youth experiencing mental health challenges providing out-of-home, high-level (intensive) therapeutic treatment services and day-to-day supports
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships and attend to the varied needs of youth
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants; intervene, remain calm and focused in crisis situations while utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills
• Full coordination, leadership, and operational oversight of care plans that support involvement in person-centred programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth
• Facilitate partnerships within the community while advocating for youths’ needs
• Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice

Experience Required

Qualifications:
• Completion of post-secondary education in Community, and/or Social Services (e.g., SSW, BSW, CYC, Sociology, Psychology)
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience; case management an asset
• Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team
• Understanding of support requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job
• Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
• Strong leadership, mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary
• Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries
• Multilingualism is considered an asset
Requirements:
• Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record
• Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred
