About the Role
The Ilderton Agricultural Society is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy individual to serve
as Treasurer. This role is essential in managing the financial health of the Society, ensuring
compliance with regulations, and supporting the success of community events such as the
annual Ilderton Fair.
Key Responsibilities
● Financial Management
o Maintain accurate financial records for all Society transactions.
o Prepare monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors.
o Maintain bank accounts, deposits, bill payments and reconciliations.
● Budgeting & Reporting
o Assist in preparing annual budgets.
o Provide financial updates at board meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
● Compliance
o Ensure timely filing of government reports (e.g., charitable status, tax filings).
o Adhere to all financial policies and procedures.
● Event Support
o Manage fair-related finances, including vendor payments and ticket revenue.
● Collaboration
o Work closely with the President, Secretary, and committees to support financial
planning.
Experience Required
Qualifications
● Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management (volunteer or
professional).
● Familiarity with accounting software (Sage) is an asset.
● Strong organizational and communication skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.
