Job Description

Position Overview

Tail Wagging Dog Ranch is looking for a friendly, organized, and animal-loving Kennel Receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for our clients and plays a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations while providing excellent care and service for both pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their dogs in a warm, professional manner
  • Manage bookings, appointments, and check-ins/check-outs
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries
  • Maintain accurate client and pet records
  • Process payments and handle cash/POS transactions
  • Communicating important information between staff and pet owners
  • Monitor lobby and front desk cleanliness and organization
  • Assist kennel staff when needed (light cleaning, handling dogs occasionally)
  • Experience with social media and posting/updating photos daily to different platforms

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, active environment with frequent interruptions
  • Exposure to barking dogs, cleaning products, and pet-related messes
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift to 40 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

Experience Required

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Experience working with dogs or animals is a strong asset
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
  • Basic computer and scheduling software skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
