Job Description
Hadren Farms is a small family business and a new enterprise, currently finishing building a new early wean sow barn this year.
We are based in the Strathroy area and our looking for one staff member to join our family team.
Since the barn build is still in progress, there is some flexibility to the start date of the job.
Previous experience working in a sow barn would be considered a great asset.
Job description:
-Assist with daily and weekly tasks in the sow barn
-Monitor and assist with farrowings
-Feed, breed, vaccinate and move sows
-Process piglets
-Assess health of animals and treat as needed
-Wean and ship piglets
-Pressure wash pens and maintain overall barn tidiness
-Handle minor barn repairs
Hours:
-Monday-Friday, approximately 40-50 hours per week, 6:30 am-3:30 pm
-2 weekends per month, hours dependent on workload
Education

Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
-Has a reliable vehicle to drive to barn outside of Strathroy
-Has a minimum of a high school diploma
-Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn
-Enjoys working with animals
-Enjoys working on a small team
-Is detail oriented and organized
-Can work independently or in a team
-Ability to complete minor repairs would be an asset
Compensation and Benefits
Starting wage $24-25/hr
