Job Description

Position overview:

The Install Manager / Project Coordinator plays a dual-role leadership position essential to the seamless execution of both residential and commercial installation projects. This dynamic role ensures efficient scheduling, resource allocation, fleet and safety management, and effective communication across internal teams, customers, and contractors.

The position includes overseeing the installation of residential and commercial sectional doors, door-opening systems, rolling steel doors, fire door systems, dock leveling systems, and other specialty products, as well as conducting detailed project planning to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This role emphasizes team development, compliance with safety protocols, and building strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Install Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, deploying, and monitoring installation personnel.
  • Ensure the completion and accuracy of all work orders before and after installation is performed.
  • Monitor project execution, addressing challenges promptly to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Foster positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Track and report group performance against objectives

Project Coordination

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely resource allocation and completion
  • Conduct job site visits to validate measurements, confirm project scope, and address potential challenges.
  • Coordinate with site superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate project execution.

Fleet and Equipment Management

  • Maintain and manage the inventory of install fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure operational readiness.
  • Conduct safety inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations.

Safety and Compliance

  • Assist in company safety programs, conducting inspections and training sessions.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including OHSA guidelines.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and implement corrective measures.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the installation team, fostering a positive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with technicians to optimize skills development and accommodate training needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing training programs and conducting performance evaluations.

Customer and Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain open communication with customers, providing updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Build and maintain relationships with site superintendents, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Participate with the Manage after-hours emergency call-in service

Administrative Duties

  • Verify timesheets and ensure proper documentation and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in weekly scheduling meetings to review project timelines and updates.

 

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Our ideal candidate has:

  • OSSD required; Post-Secondary Education in Leadership, Business Administration, or Project Management preferred.
  • Proven experience in installation/project management, preferably in the garage door or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of door-opening systems, safety protocols, and scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with procurement processes.
  • CPR/First-aid trained.
  • Proficient in computer skills and various software programs.
  • Knowledgeable in scheduling, delegation, problem resolution, procurement processes, and OHSA regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and in good standing
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communications skills to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

    Physical requirements/working conditions:

  • Environment: office-based and construction site visits with regular exposure to varying environmental and construction conditions.
  • Prolonged Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while performing office tasks.
  • Mobility: Ability to move between different locations within the office and on-site visits to check in with technician, site verification and to monitor fleet and equipment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Communication: Regular interaction with co-workers, management, and customers, requiring clear verbal and written communication.

Compensation and Benefits

$60,000 - $70,000/year
