REPORTS TO
President – Lead Heat Treater
SHIFT HOURS
Mon – Fri: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (REVIEW WITH MARK BATES/ONGOING)
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
The plant operates at a fast pace with several types of machinery running at the same time. A high alertness level is absolutely required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
(**TRAINING REQUIRED/PROVIDED**)
- Set up and operation of furnace
- Re-light furnace burners when required
- Load and unload furnaces
- Operate overhead crane and forklift
- Quench forging product
- Fill quench tanks
- Check hardness of forgings
- Grind pieces as required
- Sandblasting
- Ensure documentation/record keeping is accurate and up-to-date
- Maintain housekeeping in Heat treat area
- Ability to lift as required
- Load and unloading of furnaces
- Racking and unracking of projects
- Shipping and Receiving duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as required and appointed by management
- Work various shifts with little supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Working around and in extreme high temperatures
- Standing 8 to 10 hours per day
- Walking 8 to 10 hours per day
- Ability to push and pull weights to a maximum of 1000 lbs
- Walking/carrying with weights from 0 lbs to 50 lbs
- Ability to work productively within a small shop setting
- Alertness of operations for health and safety of self and fellow workers
