Job Description
Job Duties:
- Assist in performing specified analysis under the direction of the senior chemist
- Prepare lab samples and conduct lab tests including liquid (viscosity. PH, solids, sag resistance, etc) and physical tests (x-hatch adhesion, scratch adhesion, gloss, dry film thickness, etc)
- Evaluate experimental formulations using standard methodologies
- Run a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, lab mixers and scales, dry film gage, microscope/motic camera, humidity chamber, swellometer, etc.
- Adhere to and promote company’s safety standards and keep the lab areas clean and in safe working condition
- Perform colour matching and formulating as directed by Senior Personnel
- Collaborate with team members and maintain basic instrumentation
- Maintain accurate records and lab books, and respect company confidentiality policy
- Perform quality control on production batches and maintain QC log
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications:
Degree or college diploma in chemistry or a chemistry background
Familiar with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Projects, etc)
Demonstrated and thorough record keeping skills
Comfortable learning and becoming proficient in new systems and processes
3 years coating experience.
