Job Description
Role Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions across our integrated business group. In this role, you will develop and implement HR strategies that support a high-performance and employee-focused culture. This is a hands-on leadership position with direct influence on our people, systems, and organizational development.
You will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and front-line leaders to shape HR policies, ensure compliance, and create a positive and scalable employee experience. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and a passion for continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role with one direct report, offering the opportunity to further shape and grow the HR function as the business scales.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Culture
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and company values
- Promote a workplace culture based on transparency, collaboration, and accountability
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports growth and employee development
Employee Relations and Performance
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers for conflict resolution, performance coaching, and engagement
- Manage disciplinary processes, conduct investigations, and ensure fairness and legal compliance
- Lead the performance review process and support related compensation decisions
- Coach managers on communication, team leadership, and feedback delivery
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment from job posting and sourcing to interviewing and onboarding
- Support workforce planning to meet current and future business needs
HR Policy and Compliance
- Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal standards
- Analyze and interpret HR data to identify trends and support leadership in shaping workforce strategy and operational improvements.
- Lead internal HR audits and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Compensation and Benefits
- Oversee administration of employee benefits including health, dental, disability, and RRSP matching
- Act as liaison between employees and benefits providers for issue resolution
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salary adjustments and ROEs
Employee Engagement and Communication
- Plan and coordinate engagement activities including appreciation events, team-building initiatives, and holiday celebrations
- Support internal communication strategies to strengthen alignment and employee connection
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends for retention and improvement
Systems and Process Improvement
- Support or lead implementation of HR systems including HRIS, onboarding tools, or performance software
- Create and document scalable HR processes that support organizational growth
- Evaluate training needs and coordinate internal or external learning opportunities
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably as an HRBP or HR Manager.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with full-cycle recruitment and benefits administration.
- HR certification CHRL is an asset.
