Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems. This role plays a critical part in supporting continuous improvement and plant uptime

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support production lines by diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Perform maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and chemical delivery systems
  • Operate machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines) and fabrication equipment (e.g., welders) to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
  • Install and upgrade automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain and service compressors, material handling systems, motors, gearboxes, drives, and related machinery.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify opportunities for improving uptime and efficiency.
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for preventive maintenance and work orders
  • Assist in planning and executing plant shutdowns, start-ups, and new product launch support.
  • Manage inventory and purchase parts as required.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and provide direction or troubleshooting support. Follow and promote all Health, Safety, and Hygiene protocols in the workplace.

Education

Post Secondary Education

Experience Required

Required Training and Experience

  • 5+ years experience in an automated manufacturing environment

  • Valid Millwright Certification (433A or 426A)

  • Tool and Die Maker Certification (430A) or equivalent.

  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools (dial indicators, micrometers, verniers).

  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley RSLogix5000 programming (an asset).

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to perform safely under pressure.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team mindset.

  • Knowledge of welding, mechanical assembly, and machining.

Key Skills Required

Compensation and Benefits

$36.79 - $43.76/hour
