Job Description
Dashwood Industries Inc., a major manufacturer and distributor of windows and entrance systems for the residential and commercial markets has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. Responsibilities:
• Create and assist in the implementation of design and process changes that improve quality, reduce cost and/or improve performance.
• Maintain documentation & audits for structural and thermal testing
• Participate in Lean initiatives
• Introduce new manufacturing and assembly processes to production
• Analyze existing production methods and implement quick set ups
• Develop and implement cost reductions initiatives
• New equipment specification, procurement, and installation
• Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve problems
• Design fixtures, jigs and tools for use in manufacturing
• Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing and design problems
• Perform time studies
• Analyze Special Product Requests for Production and Purchased part requirements
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering
• Strong CAD skills
• Strong documentation and presentation skills
• Candidate trained in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, including but not limited to 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Set up Reduction, or Six Sigma
• Must have 3 – 5 years manufacturing experience
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Product design an asset
• Window and door manufacturing experience an asset
