Job Description
Brought on through the electrification of the automotive industry, Vari-Form Manufacturing Inc. is experiencing several new business opportunities. Vari-Form’s solution provides a lightweight, environmentally friendly, low-cost alternative to traditional stamped and welded components. We form parts using water and believe that the future of manufacturing and automotive can benefit from this technology.
The selected candidate will be joining the maintenance team responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, and the continuous improvement of plant processes through automation and the newest technology.
THE POSITION
- Install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems and equipment
- Program and maintain PLC's, ensuring that programming meets the requirements established for the effective operation of production equipment.
- Performs various duties such as replacing defective wiring and making connections to new electrical installations.
- Actively participate in the development and achievement of team quality goals and objectives, continuous improvement ideas and projects, and environmental objectives and targets.
- Support launches and production demands as deemed necessary with overtime.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
Experience Required
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Certificate of Qualification in Industrial/Construction Electrician recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
- Three to five years' experience in an automotive environment.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and electronic components such as motors, switches, drives, PLC's, robots and sensors.
- Knowledge of current electrical codes.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, robotics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Familiarity with computerized preventative maintenance systems.
- Demonstrates interpersonal, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Compensation and Benefits

- $41.48/hour, plus afternoon and midnight shift premium
- $46.48/hour – Dual Trade (combination of millwright, electrician and/or tool & die maker)
