Sawyer

Pacer Building Components (An AEP Company), located in Ilderton, ON, provides professional design services, supplies engineered wood products, and manufactures roof, wall and floor trusses to contractors, builders, and homeowners. We are currently looking for a Sawyer to support our operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, our ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented and motivated, with a focus on providing a high degree of external and internal customer service as we grow our team and business!

The ideal candidate will be reliable, adaptable, and motivated, with a focus on achieving results and working as part of a great team!

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performing physical tasks and lift loads ranging from 1 to 50lbs frequently
• Able to feed and stack wood to an automated Cyber saw
• Operate computer automated saw and/or set up and operator manual saw to cut lumber in accordance with instructions
• Inspect cut lumber for proper length, angle and grade per cutting list, making minor adjustments to maintain quality specifications

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Program and adjust saw cuts using Mitek software
• Good hand/eye coordination and able to adapt to a production line
• Apply solid knowledge of wood grading
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Work to the quality standard set out by the Production Manager
• Able to stand for long period of time
