Job Description

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Assistant to report to and take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor. The day-to-day performance of maintenance tasks ensures a safe and well-maintained environment for our tenants at Trillium Village seniors apartments.

The successful candidate will assist in regular inspection and repairs of building systems, vacant unit turnover and resolve incoming tenant work requests.

The position requires response to after-hours calls that cannot wait till the following business day. This will entail sharing the work cell phone, on a rotation, with the Supervisor or when they are away. The position also requires responding to all emergency calls along with the Maintenance Supervisor and Executive Director in order to assist emergency personnel.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Qualifications & Personal Traits:

  • Be a team player with strong communication skills
  • Possess a patient and understanding disposition to deal with our senior tenants
  • Have a basic technical knowledge of building systems
  • Have basic computer and email skills
  • Pay attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Be able to handle physical aspects of the job, i.e. moving appliances
  • High school diploma; technical degree from a vocational school or work experience in a reputable trade is beneficial

     

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $46,880 - $62,880
