Job Description

Summary: 

The Yard / Shipping Administrator plays a key role in our distribution and customer service success. We are looking for an individual who can operate with efficiently while maintaining an obsessive focus on safety, accuracy of shipments, quality of product and continuous improvement, along with interacting and supporting customer to assist in order processing and front facing contacts. Works in all weather conditions. Reports to the Yard Manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Practice continuous improvement and 6S, including site housekeeping
  • Process ship confirmation documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support in the procurement of LTL’s and CPU movement
  • Support yard loading functions as needed
  • Achieve expectations to meet standard production efficiencies and KPI’s
  • Provide communication to team members and department / site leaders

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Job Skills: 

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently, while maintaining a strong team-oriented environment
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, ability to maintain efficiency and pace under pressure
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong communication; reading and writing in English
  • Intermediate Computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office software

Preferred Experience:

  • Shipping and/or Logistics background
  • Customer Service skills
  • Previous Manufacturing environment experience
  • Forklift certification
