Job Description
The TECHNICIAN ENGINEERING engages in a range of support functions to increase sales, enhance the market positioning, and ensures the proper applications of ADS products. They provide technical support directly to the Engineered Product Manager (EPM) and other outside sales personnel located throughout the world. In addition to providing customer service directly to ADS customers, they will assist consulting engineers, contractors and others that influence markets for ADS products.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure a Safe Work environment for all team members and maintain a safe working record, while following all safety protocols
- Preparation of StormTech chambers and ADS pipe systems drawings and details
- Integration of ADS and allied products including water quality devices into system designs
- Prepare material estimates, as needed, for the sales team.
- Ownership of project production (interaction with field and/or design engineer)
- CAD detail project production with limited direction and attention to detail.
- Completion of individual strategic projects with peer advisor.
- Detailing and drawing special fitting requests from the ADS sales team.
- Development of new standard details.
- Assist Project Engineer with field and interdepartmental projects.
- Broad understanding of ADS products needed to support assigned territory.
- Engineering service request tracking.
- Maintain and build job skills through company and outside training programs
- Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES
Education
Experience Required
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong Customer Service skills and support
- Ability to resolve customer issues and concerns
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities in both English and French Canadian
- Positive representation of ADS, ADS products and brand
- Intermediate computer skills and familiarity (Office 365)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- High level of knowledge and experience with AutoCad or similar program
- Ability to read and interpret constriction site plans
- Background in site development
- Ability to work in both Metric and Imperial measurement systems
Preferred Experience or Skills:
- 5+ Years of AutoCad experience
Physical Requirements:
- Some travel required within Canada and into the United States (10%)
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information
Educational Requirements:
- Two-year Technical Degree in Computer aided Drafting
- Associates degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
