Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the Receivables Associate will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, be meticulous and precise in their work, and will have experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the accounts receivable process to ensure prompt customer payments and minimize bad debt risk
  • Review customer orders entered into the accounting system for correctness
  • Act as a back-up for entering orders into the accounting system
  • Preparing and updating internal and external reports with accuracy and proficiency
  • Maintain process documentation, performance metrics, and lead improvements in the process.
  • Process and record all customer payments
  • Communicate with the customer, including negotiation of disputes and collection of overdue accounts
  • Maintain customer credit records, both internal and external.
  • Prepare annual credit review for all customers
  • Participate in credit process and credit customer accounts when instructed
  • Perform weekly A/R reviews and keep on top of collections
  • Assess if orders should be released if customer is delinquent or over prescribed credit limit
  • Perform credit checks on potential new accounts
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Experience Required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years working in a similar role and environment
  • Ability to effectively negotiate during receivables collection activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Sage 50 Accounting, or similar accounting software.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Data entry accuracy and speed
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
