Job Description
Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House – STRATHROY is looking for Lead Cooks that can prepare and expedite our dishes to their best quality, lead and mentor line cooks, eliminate and log food waste, maintain a clean & sanitary back of house and place/monitor food orders and inventory. The direct qualities the candidate must have is:
- Strong leadership
- Major passion for food/cooking
- Communication skills
- Problem solving skills
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing food and beverage inventory
- Seeking ways to improve operations & processes
- Maintain standards for kitchen cleanliness & ensuring consistency of cleaning schedules
- Tracking food waste
- Prep and set up of workstations and equipment
- Cook breakfast and lunch dishes with various utensils and cooking equipment
- Ensure all food/other items are properly stored
Education
Experience Required
Skill Sets Required:
- Knowledge of the food and beverage industry
- Strong understanding of culinary procedures & standards
- Ability to work independently & as a team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome immediate issues
- Knowledge needed for organizing and planning staff, inventory & cost
