Biosecurity Cleaning Supervisor

Job Description

Reports to:  Operations Manager

 We are seeking custodians to keep our employee facilities clean and sanitized throughout each workday.

Summary:

Biosecurity Cleaning supervisor is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitation of all areas of the greenhouse including lunchrooms, office, production lines, warehouses and greenhouse as a whole.  This role is an integral part in maintaining the strict biosecurity standards Ontario Plants performs.  The biosecurity cleaning supervisor is a self-motivated individual with great observations skills and attention to detail.  He or she must possess strong leadership, coaching and training skills in order to optimize the productivity, efficiency and safety of his or her team. 

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Supervise and co-ordinate custodian team and biosecurity team activities
  • Inspect facility to ensure established safety and cleanliness standards are met
  • Train new custodians
  • Train new biosecurity team members on proper procedures, processes and necessary equipment
  • Prepare work schedule and co-ordinate activities with other departments in order to maintain biosecurity and cleanliness standards

Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of all employee facilities through the schedule workday including:

  • Lunchrooms
  • Offices
  • Warehouses
  • Washrooms
  • Greenhouse sidewalks
  • Production Lines
  • Hand wash stations
  • Foot scrubbers
  • Water coolers
  • Foot baths
  • Cleaning machines (Floor scrubbers and walk behind scrubbers)
  • Manage sanitizing stations throughout the greenhouse

 

  • Clean/restock
  • Report maintenance issues as required
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, including PPE, order if necessary with purchasing department
  • Strictly adhere to company’s health and safety policies to create a safe work environment
  • Support in creating and documenting all daily, weekly and other necessary checklists for biosecurity cleaning
  • Provide feedback to team members for optimal performance
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to outdoors, inside greenhouse and office environments.  Conditions may be hot and humid during summer peak
  • Full time – 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday)
  • Lifting or moving up to 30lbs may be required
  • Work hours will vary depending on business needs
Education RequirementPost Secondary Diploma Experience Requirement

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role
  • Comfortable bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting while performing cleaning tasks
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written directions accurately
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Salary Details

Wage:  Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience
