Position overview:

Looking for a tractor operator with mechanical skills to join our commercial apple orchard operations.  While specific orchard experience is not required, the ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for machinery and willingness to learn about orchard operations, including irrigation, fertigation, pesticide application and spraying techniques.

Responsibilities 

-Operate tractors and specialized orchard equipment for various tasks, including planting, pruning and harvesting.

-Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including greasing, oil changes and belt replacements, to ensure optimal performance.

-Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with tractors and orchard machinery, performing necessary repairs promptly.

Assist with basic orchard maintenance tasks, such as irrigation system checks, fertigation, pesticide application and spraying

-Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, pesticide application and repair activities

Requirement

• Previous experience operating tractors or heavy machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance and repair
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons, including weekends and holidays.
• Pesticide license and spraying experience preferred but will train.
• Basic understanding of irrigation and fertigation systems would be an asset
• Willingness and Enthusiastic  to learn about orchard practices.

Pay ranges from $20 to $28 per hour based on experience .

Year end bonus potential based on attendance and performance.
